RISK ASSESSMENT
When filming our horror opening sequence we must look at the risks involved as we will be using props that could cause harm. We must use them in a sensible manner in order to make sure no one gets hurt and we stay safe.
For our opening sequence we wanted to use a knife. We were ok to use one in school as we had cut the sharp end off and covered it in fake blood so it wasn't obviously blunt. When filming in the street we had to change our weapon from a knife to a pair of scissors as we thought this would be an a lot more suitable weapon, as using a knife would be way too risky and dangerous especially as we were filming in a public place. It was fine for us to change our weapon as it suited our storyline because the girl in the sequence grabs anything that she can that can cause harm.

We also had to make sure that is was safe for us to film in the local area for our safety and also for others around us as we were using realistic fake blood and we didn't want to scare people. We let the authorities know that we would be filming our opening title sequence and also we rang the nursing home in our local area to let them know we would be filming outside and around the area. Also we filmed part of our opening title sequence in a park and there was a house nearby so we asked the owner for there permission and also let them know that we would be filming.
We also made sure that any equipment we used was safe and we made sure we took care of the camera and tripod as we moved from different places.
